My feet and Me.

my feet were cute.
my feet carried me winning through the finishing line of the race.
my feet were cute
until I placed them in an exquisite pair of heels.
They cut. They hurt. They did not look pretty.
my feet has little marks that would not go.
Pushing my bare feet into the soft ocean sand...
my feet is mine again.

Society's clear-cut definition of beauty.
Don't place yourself in them
rows of similarly cut, plentiful pretty
painful
straps.

  1. How do you distinguish between whether you actually think it's beauty or that society has taught you to think that it's beauty?

  2. I never understand why so many girls put themselves through heels.it makes me very sad to see girls hobbling into lecture halls or to work in high high high heels. It is a very disempowering image.

Women have to choose between looking attractive and looking capable (a functional pair of shoes is just not sexy!)
While for men, dressing smartly\ professionally makes them look both attractive and capable.
It really makes us think of how societal definitions of beauty is a function of the power relations in society.
